8 Months Old

It seems like every time I turn around Ayla is doing something new again.  She's determined to always do more than she did the day before.  She's got sheer will, and I think we'll be watching that trait come out in her quite often as she grows.

At 8 months Ayla:
  • Got her First tooth
  • Pulls herself up in her crib & other objects
  • Sits up in her crib
  • Screeches like a pterodactyl
  • Loves to eat beets, pumpkin, broccoli, peaches, pears, bananas, roasted red peppers
  • Cries when anyone leaves the room (she wants everyone to be around her)
  • Tries to stand up without holding onto anything or anyone (so far for about 60 seconds)
  • Holds onto stationary objects and moves from each one to help her walk around
  • Loves it when people clap for her
  • Claps with one hand out and the other in a fist
  • Waves "hi" and "bye"
  • Says "Da-Da"
  • Gives kisses with her mouth wide open so you get lots of slobber
  • Sleeps from about 8:15 pm to 6:00 am
  • Does a fake cough
  • Likes watching football with her daddy
  • Flips herself upside down when people hold her so she can see everything from a different angle
  • Likes being tickled
  • Sits in the "big bathtub" now rather than her little infant tub
  • Smears food onto her highchair
  • Is trying to pick up food between her 2 fingers
  • Looks where people point
  • Squeals when she she's Mommy or Daddy
  • Took her first steps (4 in a row)
  • Giggles and screams when you're going to "get her"
  • Grabs your face to kiss you
  • Tries to stand up in the bathtub all the time
