Ayla & Blair Go to the Father/Daughter Dance
Salem had a Father/Daughter dance last year that everyone talked about for weeks after. This year, Blair decided to take Ayla to it. We got her a dress and he picked out a shirt and tie to match. They looked so good! And then Nini called and said that the Cinderella had backed out from her job. They asked me to do it instead and I said yes - after lots of reservation! It was nice to be a fly on the wall though to see Ayla and her daddy at their very first dance event. They ate pizza and snacks. Ayla got her very own drink and they they even took a picture on Cinderella's carriage. It was a pretty cute night! But by the end my feet were killing me!

Jasper is 14 Months Old
It's insane what one month can do for a baby. I think Jasper might have had the biggest growth spurt that he has had yet. He went from a size 12 month clothing being slightly large on him, to fitting comfortably in 18 month clothes in the blink of an eye! And it's like he's a little boy all of a sudden instead of my baby boy. At 14 months Mr. Bub, you can/are:
- Walking like a pro - You've even started speed walking...I'm convinced that you'll be running before we know it.
- Weigh 24 pounds
- Have 12 teeth and many more shoving through currently
- Throw a mean fit if you don't get your way - or if your sister bugs you. It's really quite entertaining to see you throw your head backward and then fall over. You roll around and then look to see if anyone is watching you.
- You're obsessed with fruit/veggie squeezes and yogurt - You will bounce up and down and then suck in air while making a sound because you're so excited to eat one when you see them.
- Say All Done and More in sign language, and you're starting to use the word with it too.
- Say puppy dog, mama, dada, more, shoe, sock, basketball, brush teeth, bath, book
- Love to be read to each day and while in the bathtub
- Still really like your bottles, but we're starting to wean you off of them and only give you sippy cups
- Have the funniest giggle ever - and you're super ticklish
- Starting to like to watch movies
- Still love to sleep - You go to bed about 8:00 each night and if we let you, you'll wake up about 9:30 the next morning. On top of that you'll take 2 naps throughout the day, each lasting about 1 1/2 to 2 hours
- Beginning to enjoy looking at pictures of yourself and your family
- Very interested in the way things work. You'll intently stare at something or try to manipulate something until you get it to work (i.e. the cap back on your toothpaste, putting a piece of food in a napkin)
- Like to throw your milk cup or food pieces onto the floor and shout "Uh Oh!"
- Maybe becoming picky with what you eat for food - you only like certain things (which are usually snacks) and you only like to pick it up yourself rather than anyone feeding you
- Love to give hugs - It will melt your heart every time - Whenever someone picks you up, you lay your head on their shoulder for almost a full minute
- Starting to like to bother Ayla - if you know that she wants something, you'll grab it really fast and try to run away - It's really quite hilarious
- Love dancing and and you remind us every night at the dinner table to say our prayer by swaying and humming the tune to "God our Father"
It's hard to believe how much you've grown in such a short time, and realize that you're not slowing down! Pretty soon you'll be taller than your sister and you'll be talking up a storm. Where has the time gone? Man we love you and you bring joy to us every single day. We're so lucky that God picked you to be part of our family!
