HUFF BABY #2 IS ON ITS WAY!!!

Tonight, I decided to take a pregnancy test.  The last couple days, I had not been feeling necessarily myself.  I would feel slightly queasy if I hadn’t eaten and I was out of breath while trying to read to my students in class.  (Both of these symptoms reminded me of when I was pregnant with Ayla, so I began to wonder.)  Another strange symptom that I had been having was (and I know this probably sounds gross) is that I was swallowing a lot of extra spit!  I didn’t know where that was coming from all of a sudden, but I remember reading about it being a pregnancy symptom in some women.

So I put Ayla to bed around 8:00pm, and I walked into our bathroom to take a pregnancy test.  I stood and watched the lines darken in disbelief.  Was I really seeing this correctly?  The first pregnancy test I would take while trying for this baby would be a Big Fat Positive!  I tried to gather my thoughts and wrap my brain around what I was seeing.  My heart began pounding so hard that I could almost hear it myself!  There was no way I couldn’t run down the stairs and show Blair what I had just discovered.  He was writing up a review for his job, and I walked into the office, set down the test, and looked at him in disbelief.  He stopped and just stared at me!  “Did you just take this right now?”  He asked.  “Yes!”  I shrieked!  He immediately jumped up and gave me a high five.  And then we called all of the grandparents!  We Skyped Nini and Pappaw, called Auntie Lee Lee and Cousin KK, and then called Fancy on the phone so that she would scream the news to Grand Dude and Uncle X.  I looked on the computer, and apparently the baby will be with us in December of this year!  Never in my wildest dreams did I think that we would have 2 kids less than 2 years apart!  I cannot even begin to fathom what their lives with be like together!
I wonder if it will be a boy.  That’s what I think it is right now.  This time around, I have noticed that I want to eat grilled chicken and fish.  (I didn’t touch fish once the entire time I was pregnant with Ayla.)  I haven’t felt too sick yet, and coffee is easy to drink right now.  All of these things are a bit different from the last time.  Of course, we will not find out what the baby is early, so it will be a surprise that everyone will be waiting on!  WE CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   YAHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail.....

After we got back from Salem, we went over to Fancy and Grand Dude’s house to celebrate Easter.  There was a brunch, Easter Egg Hunt, and a special visitor to complete the day.  J  As soon as we got to their house, Ayla immediately started seeing Easter Eggs all over the deck and backyard.  She remembered hunting them from the night before in Salem and started her routine of shaking and having you open them to see what was inside.  Cousin Paiton came over too, so they hunted eggs together and then ate all the goodies inside of them – it was a pretty cool hunt because it was geared for babies.  Each egg had Puffs, Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms, etc. in them so that they could eat everything.

A little later on in the day, we noticed that Fancy had disappeared.   All of a sudden, she came hopping down the stairs with baskets of goodies for Ayla, dressed in an Easter Bunny suit!  Now I know that she’s a little crazy, but I never expected this!  It was hilarious!  I know where I get my love for traditions now, because it was so important to her to continue this tradition from the time when Ayla’s Great, Great Grandma Moo Moo would do this for my mom and her brothers and sister!  I found out that she had spent several days sewing her own Bunny suit so that she can hop down the stairs for each Easter from now on, and give out Easter Gifts.  She’s the funniest Fancy in the world.  I wondered what Ayla would do when she saw her, but she just ran up to her and gave her a hug!  It was more like Ayla was thinking, “Fancy?  Why in the world are you wearing a Bunny Suit outside?”

Along with treats and candy, Ayla got socks, a stuffed baby chick, a really cool light up unicorn from Uncle Chad and Auntie Moo Moo, and a bubble machine lawn mower of her very own from Fancy and Grand Dude.  After her nap, she pushed it around in her diaper and had a blast.  I would say that our Easter Weekend was a definite Success!

Pappaw's 61st Birthday & Easter Eggs Galore!

We had a great time in Salem over Easter Weekend.  We left to go down Friday night so that we could see KK's soccer game the next morning.  It was nice to get down Friday night so that Ayla and KK could play together for a few minutes before they went to bed.  We relaxed and then went to bed around 10:30.  Our little Miss Ayla is now cutting 6 teeth consecutively, so a full night's sleep is unheard of at this current time.  She was up at 1:30 and then again at 4:30.  She wouldn't go back to sleep until 5:30, so it made for a tired Saturday morning!  KK  had a soccer game at 11:00 and it was so fun to watch her play.  A bunch of little 3 year olds running around the field, picking up the ball with their hands and wanting their snack early.  It was adorable.  I got a few really good pictures of Kinsley.  My favorite is the one where she stopped to pout because a little boy stole the ball from her.  She gets her competitiveness honestly!  That's all I can say about that!  :-)
Saturday night was a blast.  Brian, Mary Beth, Shelley, Johnny, Allie, Gavyn and Hadley all came over to eat dinner and celebrate Bobby's 61st Birthday.  We ate steaks and the usual "Big Dog" meal.  No one ever disappoints that's for sure!  After dinner the kids got to do an Easter Egg Hunt in search of like 165 eggs or something crazy like that!  They ran around everywhere, and it was so cute to see Ayla start to get the concept of finding colorful eggs in the grass.  She would pick one up, shake it, and then want you to open it for her so she could see what was inside.  Bobby opened up presents and cards and we sang happy birthday to him.  It was just a really good time!
We had another sleepless night from Abe the Babe and then we got up for the Early Easter Service at church.  They had a message and then a gigantic breakfast downstairs afterward.  You can't beat the Church Ladies' Breakfast.  Everything is so good!  Ayla at an entire H&R Bakery donut by herself, tons of grapes and strawberries, and even tried my biscuits and gravy which she spit out immediately.
After the breakfast, we went back to Nini and Pappaw's house, packed up, and headed out.  We had to go to Fancy and Grand Dude's house to celebrate the holiday too.  Overall, we had another lovely weekend in Salem.
