Our poor little boy had been super fussy and just plain uncomfortable for several days. He would pull his legs to his belly, let out little screams, and twist in pain a lot! I knew that he was having trouble going to the bathroom, but it seemed to be more than that. I had seen this behavior before in Ayla and I had heard the little sounds that he had been making before too. He definitely has acid reflux. Jasper's is different than Ayla's because he doesn't spit up much. I think he spits it up, but then swallows it back down and it really hurts his little tummy!
It was the last straw when he wouldn't go to sleep last night. I had to hold him up all night long in my sleep and then feed him when he woke up. I hardly slept a wink that night, and I could hear him even an hour after eating still refluxing. I felt so bad for him! So I put on my "Mommy Hat" and called the doctor. I told them that I had already tried everything I needed to try and I was sure he had acid reflux. I told them that I wanted to try him on Zantac, and they immediately called in a prescription. It has worked wonders even since the first day! I'm so glad that I went with my gut instinct and called the doctor. Hopefully my little boy will eat a bigger meal now rather than grazing, start to gain some more weight, and feel good while doing it!
