It was supposed to be cold and rainy all week, but today actually turned out pretty nice, so Fancy, Ayla, and I took a trip to Apple Works for the afternoon. It was fun to see Ayla look at farm animals for the first time. She squealed at them and even pulled at a goat's tail (gently). :-) We wanted to take her for a pony ride, but there were none out for the day. And we wanted to take her for a train ride, but we had just missed the last one. So we'll definitely go back sometime! Instead we ordered an apple dumpling and let her taste it. She loves ice cream and apples that's for sure!
On our way home, we decided to stop and visit Great Grandma and Grandpa Tranter. They were visiting with Dick and Janette Barton. So we said hello and hung out for a little bit. Miss Ayla smiled, crawled, and showed off some of her latest tricks. It was an enjoyable and spontaneous afternoon!
| She was very fascinated by the goats...even when they turned their backs to her. |
| She really wanted to grab this one's tail. |
| Fancy and Ayla trying to see if the train was still running for the day. |
| She squealed at the chickens |
| I was really nervous that they would peck at her precious fingers. |
| These llamas were cute and she really like them |
| The sheep wouldn't talk back to her, but she kept trying! |
| And at one point, the rocks became more exciting than the peacocks... |
| Happy girl in her new jean jacket...love! |
| Who wouldn't want to pick up handfuls of straw and eat it??! |
| This is the best height measurement we got since the grass and weeds were at the top of her agenda. :-) |
| The rule is that grandpa gets ayla first every time she visits! |
| Note Grandma's drink in the background - it would be dumped on the floor in just a few seconds because, in Grandma's opinion, Ayla is ready for big people drinks already! |
