A Parent's Promise - Dedication Day

It was a special day to be able to dedicate Ayla to the church.  My mom and dad came to watch and my dad took pictures.  They called Ayla's name and we took her up to the front of the church and spoke, along with other parents, about our vow to Ayla and to Jesus.  We promised, before witnesses, to raise her up in a church and teach her about Christ.  We promised to read the bible to her and always lead by example.  They put her picture up on the screen, then handed us a gift bag that had a picture frame of her in it and a jar of marbles.  We're supposed to take out one marble each year to remind us that she will be leaving us soon and that it's up to us to give her a strong, Christlike foundation before she goes.  Then we sat back down and my dad prayed over us as a family, thanking God for Ayla and that Blair and I are dedicated to raising her in the church.  It was a really special moment.  I'm thanking for such an amazing dad!  Afterward, they served cupcakes and drinks to celebrate.

The gift bags that they gave each child.

A jar of milk and a glass.  Chris Garrett spoke and said that he could change the milk into water.  Then he stopped and said that there is no such thing as magic.  Our babies won't magically learn about Christ, and that it's up to us to teach them.

Ayla was all decked out in her new outfit!  Of course she missed her nap to come to the dedication service, so she looks completely tired in every picture.  :-)

Anytime there's a string, she's eating it.

So proud of our little girl!

Practicing how to use the camera - I couldn't bring myself to delete this one.  hehe

Standing and reading before witnesses.

Cute family picture - except for "Bruiser" here on the right!  :-)

Always nosey about everything!  She's her daddy's girl!

Ayla loves her Fancy and Grand Dude

Yummy cupcakes!

Ayla got a special treat of icing off the cupcakes for her big day.  She loves it.
