7 Months

I can't believe my baby girl is 7 months old already.  It seems like just the other day we celebrated her 1/2 birthday.  Then all of a sudden, I hear Blair telling everyone she's almost 7 months.  It blows my mind.  I can't believe that this time last year, I had surprised my classroom of students by telling them that I was going to have a baby.  I was just finishing up with my 1st trimester.  And now she's nearing a whole year old.  Ayla is the best thing that has ever happened to me here on Earth.  Sometimes I'm tired in the mornings, and sometimes I have no idea how I'm going to get everything done at work and still be caught up for the next day because I have to leave work to go get her from daycare, but this is exactly where I want to be in my life.  I love the little family we have and I'm so so happy that God picked Blair and me to be Ayla's parents.  She's an amazing little girl.

At Seven Months Ayla Can/Is:

  • Still the happiest baby I know (people ask us all the time if she ever stops smiling)
  • Rolling over both ways
  • Sit up from the laying down position
  • Stand up from a sitting position - into a bear walk stance
  • Trying to crawl so badly
  • Curious about everything
  • Cries when we walk out of the room
  • Loves to try and feed herself
  • Says Yie Yie, and I also think she says "hi" when we walk into a room and she sees us
  • Throws fits when she doesn't get her way
  • Spits her food out at your (raspberry style)
  • Chews on EVERYTHING - I'm sure she'll have a tooth in the next few weeks
  • Starting to become more ticklish under her arms, neck, and legs
  • Laughs at you when you act silly to her
  • Eats every 3 hours during the day
  • Smiles at strangers in stores and gets excited to see them walk by
  • Loves chewing on the silky part of her blankie
  • Likes riding in carts at stores
  • Makes a fake coughing sound
  • Makes a fake sneezing sound
  • Sits in the big bathtub to take a bath
