Ayla's 6 Month Check - Up....and shots

We went to Ayla’s 6 month check- up today.  It was so great to be able to take the day off work with her today and get to spend an extra day with her.  I really needed it!  She had to get shots again.  This was by far the worst batch of shots for her.  The last 2 times, it was like she didn’t know what hit her until the 3rd and final shot was being given.  But today she felt it on the first stick, and boy was she mad!  She screamed at Rachel (the nurse who is also Dr. Ciaccio’s sister).  She threw a major fit, and wouldn’t stop crying until we were leaving the office.  But other than that, she did really well!  Her head is finally starting to slow down it growth (thank goodness lol) and it’s now only in the 75th percentile rather than the 90th.  Her weight is in the 75th percentile at 17 pounds 4 ounces, and her length is in the 50th percentile also which is a lot better than the 25th like last time!  Because it was her 6 month visit, she got to pick a book off of their shelf, so we selected “Oh David”.  She has enjoyed chewing on it so far.  And also while we were there, I had them check her ears one more time.  It had seemed like she was getting better from the bubble gum medicine, and then all of a sudden her nose got runny again and she started to pull at her ears and cry when we laid her down.  Dr. Ciaccio confirmed a double ear infection – poor babe.  And she put her on a stronger medicine.  Let’s hope it works!  I’m so proud of my sweet little babe.  She’s such a good little girl!

Hanging out in the morning before her doctor appointment.  It was so fun to be off of work and hang with her!

All dressed and ready to go!

She fell asleep with Sophie on her way there.

Ayla playing with her new book.  All smiles!
