My favorite holiday has always been the 4th of July. Don't ask me why - but I was dying for the day to come when I could show Ayla fireworks for the first time. We went shopping and got 5 small fireworks that only lit up. No loud sounds because I wasn't sure how she would react. We got her all dressed up in her 4th of July outfit and needless to say she was less than impressed all day long. I'm pretty sure I didn't get a single smile on camera the entire day! Oh well, I still had a blast showing Ayla what the 4th is all about. :-) We had Blair's parents and Grandma Junie come up to celebrate. We had steaks, corn on the cob and squash from Pinky's garden (YUM) and lots more. I baked a cake to celebrate Ayla's first 4th of July and Blair's recent promotion up to Accounting Manager at Simon. We are so proud of him and I can't wait to check out his new office! While Blair's family was in town, he and his dad decided to chop down a dead tree in our backyard. Quite entertaining listening to Teri ask the boys if they wanted her to finish the job. :-) All in all I'd say Ayla's first 4th of July was a success.
