A couple weekends before Ayla's birthday Blair and Grand Dude took a Saturday to build Ayla her birthday present from us - her very own swing set. It was perfect! They got it done all in an afternoon and then we enjoyed yummy steaks to celebrate and say thanks for Grand Dude's help. The next morning, we took Ayla outside to put her handprint in the wet cement but it had mostly dried by then, so we settled for the date instead.
The Saturday before her "Almost Birthday Party", Fat Uncle Chad and Auntie MooMoo came by to give Ayla her gifts just incase it snowed and they had to head back early. It was fun watching her play with them. She got so excited when the came to the door that she ran around the room like a crazy little girl! Chad was so happy to see her because he said it had been so long and she'd really grown up.

We had planned on having Ayla's 1st birthday party the Sunday before her real birthday so that Nini, Pappaw, Aunt LeeLee, Uncle Craig, and Cousin KK could come up and party with us. But it snowed horribly! We ended up having to cancel the big party and push it to her real birthday - the following Wednesday instead. But Fancy, Grand Dude, and Uncle X came over for some lunch and a couple presents anway. We had a good time having a mini celebration.
