Well the time has come - Bub has gotten his first ear infection. I've taken him to the doctor 2 other times when I have thought he may have had one, and I've been wrong both times. So you end up walking out of the doctor's office with no new advice and $30 less in your pocket each time you go! Well the other day, Miss Lindsy (Jasper's daycare girl) told me that he had been pulling on his right ear a lot during the day. I just figured he was teething, and tried to tell myself that he didn't need to go to the doctor again. Then I remembered that my school insurance gave us a new benefit that will let me take the kids to a free med-check. A brand new one had just opened up right next to our house that week. So I decided to make him an appointment. And low and behold - Bub's right ear is bright red, inflamed, and completely infected. (-1 for Mom). The office was amazing because the visit was free and since they had bubble gum medicine right there in the office, we got to take that home for free as well!
Go figure, the one time I don't choose to take him to see Dr. Ciaccio, and he's got his first ear infection. But in all fairness, the kid smiles constantly! It was almost a joke to take the happiest kid on earth in to see a doctor and to find out that he had a horrible infection. The Bubbster is simply one of a kind I guess!
