I took Ayla for her 15 month well check-up today and you wouldn't believe the drama this sweet little child of mine caused. First, she woke up with a slight fever in the morning. I literally had to wake her up at 9:00 because she was still sleeping. When I picked her up, she was shaky and all hot. I got worried, but was glad that we were schedule to go into the doctor's office anyway. I took her temperature and it was only 99.8 degrees.
When we got to the doctor, she immediately stated crying and would cling to me the entire time. They took her temp. too and it was the same. When they weighed her, she was 23.4 oz. and her height was 31 inches tall. She's such a big girl. :-)
Finally Dr. Ciaccio came in to check her out the rest of the way and she found that Ayla had blisters in the back of her throat, and then discovered a tiny dot on the bottom of her right heel. She diagnosed her with Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease - AGAIN! You're only supposed to get that disease once, but not Miss Ayla. I felt horrible for not knowing that there was something already wrong with her. But the doctor said that it probably all started showing up just that morning. Her rash will worsen for a couple days, but once the fever is gone and the rash stops growing, she will no longer be contagious. I am so glad about that since we're leaving for Orange Beach with Nini, Pappaw, Lee Lee, KK, and Craig this Friday!
Let's hope this virus kicks it quickly and we can go back to enjoying our summer! Poor little girl.
