Ayla Blair & Jasper Paul: Ayla is 13 months

The first month of your first year has blown by Miss Ayla. And it sure seems that you have grown so much in just this one short month! You've got major personality and you are complimented on how extremely happy you are at all times. Among many other personality traits and talents, at thirteen months, you:

Weigh 20 pounds 15 ounces
Are 29 1/2 inches tall
Are cutting the top left molar, both bottom molars, and the front top left tooth right now
Are able to almost run
Can walk backwards
Love playing "Ring Around the Rosy"
Pretend to fall down to get peoples' attention
Can say, "pretty, book, juice, eyes, milk, Ayla, kiss, again, dog, kitty, achoo" and so much more
Know where your own and others' eyes, nose, mouth, and ears are
Love carrying around my old Cabbage Patch Dolls (Gunther & Marjorie), My CareBear, your Doc McStuffins Dolls, and just about any other animal or doll you can get your hands on
LOVE to read books - your favorite is the "Oh David" book you got from the doctor's office. You love looking at the page where David dirtied his diaper and his mom says "P U David!" Such a silly little girl
Love turning the pages in books
Run up behind people and peek through their legs, or hug onto the back of them
Wave bye-bye, blow kisses, and actually kiss others
After you kiss someone, you say "Awwww"
Like it when people do "This Little Piggy" on your toes
Run out of the bathroom and potty on the carpet when it's bath time - yeah, we'll be leaving your diaper on you until the very last moment from now on
Are starting to try to bite when you get frustrated - all we have to do is gasp at you and your little lip sticks out incredibly far and you bawl your eyes out. You've got such a tender soul and you get your feelings hurt very easily
Are utterly and completely obsessed with Elmo on Youtube
Are such a good eater! You eat what we are all having for dinner and you say "mmmmm" while you eat it.
Are starting to try to lift up the trashcan lid - and you smash your fingers every time and scream and cry
Like pulling out every book on your bookshelf
Like going through every cabinet and drawer in our kitchen and bathroom
Make a tooting noise with your mouth and then crack up laughing
Think Fancy is the funniest person on the planet right now
Love to be chased around - you scream at the top of your lungs and giggle the whole time
Are starting to get mad when someone washes your hair, brushes your teeth, gets you dressed, or changes your diaper - you're very stubborn when you want or don't want something
Like to Velcro and Un-Velcro your shoes
Are working on throwing things - you flap your hands until it falls out, and then you keep flapping - silly girl
Push buttons with your pointer finger
Aren't quite sure about your swing in the backyard yet - you'll scream and laugh only if someone pretends they are going to get you while you're going back and forth
Lead us down the hallway to your playroom if you want us to come watch a movie back there with you
Have been waking up in the night recently - you love to be rocked back to sleep
When I rock you to sleep, you play with my hair - so sweet
Are off the bottle, completely drinking from sippy cups now, but are starting to get interested in drinking from "mommy's cup"
Are attempting to go up 1 stair in the house right now. It's time to teach you I think!
Are taking 2 naps per day now - 1 morning and 1 afternoon - each last between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours

I'm sure I'm forgetting about a million amazing things that you can do at this point in your life Ayla. Your daddy and I are just so thrilled to be your parents. You brighten up our days more than we ever imagined. Thank you for keeping our lives interesting and for being the beautiful gift from God who we will cherish always. We love you little girl!
