Ayla is 3 Years Old!

Ayla continues to be such an interesting and energetic child constantly!  She keeps us on our toes and makes us crack up laughing daily.  Just the other day, I was talking with Blair and we said that we couldn't believe that she used to be a baby.  She seems so grown up and mature, but a total emotional girl at the same time!  At the age of 3, Ayla can/is/does:
  • Weighs 34 pounds and is 3 feet, 3 inches tall
  • Loves to pretend play
  • Still loves babies
  • Started to say she wants to be a teacher like me
  • Always wants to take care of her brother
  • Enjoys following her bedtime routine nightly
  • Starting to read stories on her own by picture reading
  • Loves to sing Joy Joy Down in my Heart, Bringing Home my Baby Bumble Bee, Jesus Loves Me,
  • Still loves snacks, yogurt, and chocolate
  • Starting to drink out of a big girl cup with no lid
  • Sits at the dinner table with us like a big girl with no booster seat
  • Likes to eat broccoli (who knew) and salad without any dressing
  • Plays like she is stealing your seat every time you get up to do something
  • Beginning to like to watch movies (Fox and The Hound is her favorite right now)
  • Stays in her bed like a big girl all night unless she needs to go potty - sometimes we have to threaten to lock her door if she doesn't stop whining, but it's much better than it used to be!
  • Likes people to see (her moves) so we're planning to sign her up for gymnastics
  • Has started saying, "Hey!  I've got a surprise for you!" with her hands behind her back.  When you ask what it is, she will pull a booger out from behind her back - and it is SICK!  So, we're working on that one
