Ayla's 2nd Birthday Party - Snow Storm/Sesame Street Style

Last year for Ayla's 1st Birthday Party there was an enormous ice storm that covered most of Indiana.  Lots of people couldn't come to her party because of it....so why wouldn't it surprise us that there would be a really big snow storm that would blow through for her 2nd Birthday Party?!  Once again we dealt with people not being able to come to her party, but we made the best of it!  Ayla started out the morning helping Daddy shovel the driveway, and then playing in the snow.  And then everyone who could make it enjoyed her Sesame Street Style Party.  With the situation we were in, we had a very great time!  I can't believe how darn big she is already.

Every time we run out to the garage to get into the car, she makes a b-line for her Nun-Nun car.  So Blair took her out for a ride in the snow today!

Look how high the snow comes up to her legs!

Tackle Snow Playing

The night before her party I showed her the Cookie Monster cake that I made for her.  She was so excited!  And before Blair could grab her, she stuck her mouth right on Cookie's eye!  We figured no one would know at the party the next day.  :-)

So excited about her cake!

Note the marshmallow on her lips. :-)

Here is the finished product of the cake I made.  It was so easy and really fun to do!

After pressing the gel trace onto the cake

All I did was trace a picture of Cookie Monster onto some wax paper, then outline it with gel, and place it onto the cake.  I couldn't have centered it like I needed to without Blair's help though!

Nothing like decorating your kiddo's birthday cake with a good glass of Merlot on a Friday Night!

Isn't she just darling?!

Some of Uncle Tyler's friends came as "The B Team" to guests who couldn't make it....Hey!  Someone had to eat the pizza!

Ayla has on her Great Great Grandma's napkin as a bib that her Great Grandma Jody made.  I absolutely love this tradition of having the kids wear it each year for their birthday while they are little.

And Grand Dude just had to show up with an Oscar the Grouch shirt!

There should be some very creative caption to go under this picture...so just insert here.

It doesn't look like she's excited at all for her presents does it.

She might love the couch that Moo Moo and Chad sent her

Her very own tricycle!
Peek-a-Boo Ayla!
