Jasper is 5 Months Old

Gosh!  I would say that this is the month our little man has made the most changes!  It seems like every month we notice how happy of a little boy he is!  I used to think that Ayla was the easiest baby in the world, but Jasper might be taking the lead in this category.  Sleep was the hardest thing with him in the beginning, but lately, he's calmed down and doesn't really fight his sleep very much.  He's almost always content and happy to see you.  He loves life and watching things go on around him.  If he needs something, he'll let you know, but otherwise, he like to just chill back!  Sometimes I feel bad because he'll just sit in his swing and play all by himself, so I'll get a few things done.  He'll never fuss.  And when I go to check on him, he'll just look at me and smile.  It makes you feel bad for leaving him while he's such a happy little boy!  But he's seriously like that most of the time anymore!  Our bubby is definitely developing a personality and I think he's going to be sweet and cute as ever.  At 5 months, our little man can/does/is:

• Weighs 13 pounds, 6 ounces
• Starting to Talk – He says “Ohhh”
• Will have a conversation back and forth with you making all sorts of sounds
• Blows Raspberries
• Will grunt at Ayla if he wants her to leave him alone (It's hilarious)
• Has a pathetic, fussy whine if he's getting hungry
• Holds his hands together and brings them to his mouth to suck on them
• Sometimes sucks on his two fingers
• Likes holding his blankey while he sleeps
• Is so completely smiley 95% of the time
• Very laid back and content with life
• Loves watching his sister entertain him
• Likes to be sung to
• Loves his binky
• He's very good at holding onto his binky - He'll push it in and pull it out of his mouth all on his own - He likes to chew on it right now too
• Might be getting a tooth in the bottom front of his mouth - He's drooling all the time and you can see a swollen white spot on his gums
• Is becoming a much better sleeper!  He is on his belly at nap and night now.   He will usually wake up around 11:30, I feed him, and then he might wake up again around 3:30 but we ignore him and he goes back to sleep.  He wakes again around 5:00 to eat and then sleeps again until about 8:00.  Sounds good to us!
• Can push himself up onto his elbows and look around
• Can roll to his sides
• Is getting better at rolling over from his belly to his back
• Turns his head to his mom every time he hears her voice
• Starting to kick his feet in the bath tub
• Began eating oatmeal
• Is beginning to laugh if  you play peek-a-boo with him or if you look at him through a mirror
• Likes to watch the TV if it's on
• Likes Pat-a-Cake
• Starting to refuse his bottle sometimes - Not sure what's going on there

We just can't wait to see how you continue to grow little boy!  You've been a joyous addition to our family and we love you so, so, so much!
