Ayla Goes to Sesame Street Live

Today was awesome.  Back in January, Blair and I decided that we wanted to take Ayla to see Sesame Street Live when they came in to town, so we bought tickets for today.  We told her that she was going to be going last night at dinner and she was so completely excited!  I wasn't sure if she would understand what was going on, but she did.  When we told her that she had to be sure to get a good night sleep last night because she was going to see Sesame Street the next day, she took in a huge gasp of air and stared at us with her eyes wide open.  It was so cute that it brought me to tears.

This morning, we got up and got her dressed.  We left at about 8:15 and got downtown in plenty of time.  We waited in the lobby for a bit and then the doors opened to the Murat Theatre.  There were tons of kids who couldn't wait to see all the characters.  We bought Sunny Side tickets which got us in to the meet and greet sections with the characters and Blair made sure we were first in line.  It ended up being a big mistake because as soon as LIFE-SIZE Cookie Monster and Elmo came out, Ayla completely freaked out.  She wouldn't smile for the pictures at all.  We hung out in the room for a few minutes and let Ayla color, and then we went to find our seats.  We got front row seats for the show and they were perfect!  Throughout the show all the characters came down to dance with her and to give her high fives.  She stood on her chair and danced.

After the show, we went to Mass Ave. and ate at Bazbaux Pizza and then took her to Sub Zero for ice cream.  Everything was delicious and we had a completely great time with our big girl.

Streamers shot up into the room and the cover off of one of the guns came out into the crowd and smacked Blair in the throat.  We died laughing!  Ayla showed off the cap.
