Easter 2016 & Yay for Nice Weather!

Easter was very nice this year!  Ayla couldn't wait to see Peter Cottontail at the mall, and she told Jasper all about him on the way there.  But when we got there, Jasper wanted nothing to do with him!  Ayla was thrilled as ever though!  On Easter Eve, we had Easter Egg pancakes for dinner along with scrambled eggs and little sausages.  There were mimosas for the big people (Fancy and Grand Dude came over too).  Before we went to bed, Ayla wrote her name for the Easter Bunny and drew a  picture of the 12 disciples (talk about melting my heart), and then we went to sleep.  The next morning, we woke up and got the kids out of bed.  We ran downstairs and saw the Easter Bunny and Jesus waiting outside for the kids!  It was hilarious because it was actually Fancy and Grand Dude, but Ayla wouldn't go down the stairs at first because she thought it was a weird man.  When she realized that it was Fancy and Grand Dude, she shouted, "Grand Dude!  I thought you were Jesus!"  Once we got all the way downstairs, we saw that the Easter Bunny had come for a visit!  He left the kids baskets full of candy, surprise fashums, and a harmonica each.  They were excited and then they got to hunt for the Easter Eggs that he had hidden for them.  They also each got a t-ball game from Fancy and Grand Dude.

Later that morning, we all piled in the car and went down to Salem to see Nini and Pappaw.  Ayla got invited over to KK's other grandparents' house to do an egg hunt with her and she was shocked to see real, actual Kinder Surprise Eggs there!  She got to take home a dozen of them and I've never seen her happier.  Then we did another big egg hunt at Nini and Pappaw's house and ate The Big Dog as always.  The only bummer was that Jasper slept through the entire afternoon.  I think we've all got a touch of something not too hot and he's the one who started it.  We stayed as late as we possibly could and then we got the kids baths, in their jammies, and headed home.  Overall, it was a great holiday and one for the books.  We so love getting to make these memories with our two sweet and completely adorable babes!

While Ayla slept one day, we got some Bubby time.  He is so darn cute.

Lately, he is in to blowing kisses

Ayla's Surprise Egg Birthday Party

Ayla is completely infatuated with Youtube right now.  And she particularly enjoys watching people open eggs with surprises in them.  There are all types of eggs - some with chocolate, some with little stickers and toys - but she loves them all!  So we decided to throw her a Surprise Egg party this year.  Everything was meant to have some sort of surprise with it.  All of her balloons were random surprise Disney people (since all of the characters on the videos are Disney).  Her cake was a pinata cake with surprise M & M's in the middle of it.  I constructed a play-dough cake like a girl opens on one of her favorite Internet videos.  And I even paper mached a gigantic surprise egg to put all of her birthday presents in.  This year we decided to invite lots more family to her birthday party so that she could play with her cousins too!  And for the first time since she was born, it didn't snow on her birthday!  The weather was beautiful and the food was delicious.  Definitely another successful party in the books for Miss Ayla Hoo!
