Fall Break & Halloween Fun

I tell ya - there really is nothing better than an extra long break of time off with my kiddos.  2 weeks of Fall Break is absolutely wonderful.  I love waking up late with my babies and doing whatever we feel like depending on the weather!  One day we decided at random to meet our friends Jess, Graham, and Baby Reese at the apple orchard to eat a snack and play on the playground.  Another day, we decorated tiny pumpkins before nap time.  Fall Break is just such a nice time of year!  I love it, I love it, I love it!

Well, Ayla rules the roost apparently!  She was dead set on being a cookie for Halloween.  Way back in September, when I started probing her for ideas, she stated that she wanted to be a cookie without even thinking!  And she stood firm on her request.  Finally we had to follow through with her idea.  Fancy helped me create a cookie costume, and we thought it only fitting that Jasper would be the "cookie monster" to compliment his big sis!

Poor Bub was too tired to enjoy the festivities for too long.  He only made it a couple houses.
Blair took off work one Monday of Fall Break.  So we decided to take the kids to Apple Works to pick out their pumpkins.  Blair had never been and it was fun to see him spend time there with the kids.  Ayla took him to see all the animals, through the maze and jumped off the huge haystacks at him.  We got our pumpkins and made a short trip of it, but it was definitely fun!

Here are just some adorably cute pictures of Ayla and Jasper while we were raking leaves outside one afternoon.  We had just gotten in their matching Colts outfits and Blair suggested we take a couple pictures of them in the leaves.  (I was quite surprised when he pulled out his artsy side!)  I think they turned out pretty darn sweet!

During Fall Break - Fancy, Grand Dude, Blair, Ayla, Jasper, and I rented a small Santa Claus cabin in the Holiday World Campgrounds.  It was so much fun!  We decorated our cabin and spent the night for two nights.  The kids got to dress up in their Halloween costumes and go trick-or-treating at the campgrounds.  Nini and Pappaw came down to visit Saturday night and went trick-or-treating with us.  I really hope we go again next year.  It was such a fun trip.  And Ayla loved every second of it!

Fall Bonfires are Enjoyable

Being on Fall Break allows me to relax a little.  So tonight I told Blair that we were going to light up a bonfire and do hot dogs, homemade macaroni, and baked beans.  We brought our outdoor table down by the fire, brought out the kids' chairs and relaxed for a bit!  Fancy and Grand Dude came over to eat dinner and have some drinks and it was just a fun evening!

How is he getting so big?

Dinner isn't complete at a bonfire in the Fall without a pumpkin cup!

Bubby gets baked beans and macaroni too!  (It's just been blended first)

"I will feed you Fancy!  I will help you eat!"
