Today Blair and I took Ayla to get tubes in her ears. She's had so many ear infections that Dr. Ciaccio recommended it since she is susceptible to them for a few more years. I'm personally so glad that she's getting them so that she doesn't have to feel any more pain! Dr. Fairchild said that Ayla wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything past midnight. I was nervous about that since she usually wakes about 6 am to nurse. So we decided to keep her awake until about 9:00pm the night before in hopes that she would sleep a little later this morning. She woke up around 6:30 and was such a good little girl. We had to be at the hospital by 7:30. I got her signed in, and while we waited for her name to be called, she flirted with all the old grandmas and grandpas who were in the waiting room. When we got called back, the nurses had us change her into a gown. She looked so cute! By 8:00, Abe was starving and getting tired, but she wasn't allowed to eat anything yet. We had to keep her occupied so she wouldn't throw a fit in the room! Finally at 8:30 Patsy Noe came and found us, grabbed Ayla and then they whisked her away. We had to wait out in the waiting room for her to have her surgery, and within 5 minutes they called us back to Ayla's room. Dr. Fairchild said that Ayla did wonderful during the surgery, and when we finally got to see her, she was laying in a fat lady's arms sucking down a bottle of Pedialite! The nurses said she was so good and she never cried once. She went right to sleep and woke up the moment they were finished. We were so proud of our little girl! They had us wait for about 30 more minutes before we could leave so they could watch Ayla and make sure she didn't have any strange reactions. She did great and we left the hospital by 9:30am. I can't believe how easy the surgery was for Ayla! Now I just hope that she doesn't get any more ear infections!!! :-)
